Phyllis Kittel is professor emerita of mathematics at Benedictine University. She lives with her husband, John Light, and their dogs near the Sangre de Christo Mountains in southern Colorado.

For a decade, around the time of the Second Vatican Council,  Phyllis was a member of the Sisters of the Precious Blood in Dayton, Ohio.   Her ongoing curiosity about how these devoted women were growing into the invitations and challenges that the Council extended is the basis for this wonderful book.
