The first consecration of two members brought joy to the Company in the USA.
Karen S. made her first consecration on the feast of St. Ursula, October 21, 2011. The event took place during a Eucharistic celebration at Bellarmine Chapel in Cincinnati, during a gathering of members in the United States. Several friends of Karen (who traveled to Cincinnati for the occasion) and other friends of the Company joined the members for the happy event.
Muguette J. made her first consecration on the anniversary of the Company’s foundation, November 25, 2011, in Quebec, at the center of the Company of St. Ursula of Canada, with which the members in the United States are closely affiliated.
On the same day, Christine-Henriette made her first consecration in Yaounde, Cameroun. The new Group of Congo-Cameroun is affiliated with the Company of St. Ursula of France.
Their commitment, for two years, is an important step on the path to lifelong consecration. Members of the Company of St. Ursula commit themselves to live celibate chastity, poverty, and obedience, in spiritual companionship with the other members.

Liliane D. was elected treasurer of the US Conference of Secular Institutes at its autumn 2011 meeting. She serves in a similar capacity for our Company and for the planning committee of the North American Ursuline Convocation (2013).
American Catholic Radio broadcast a short radio interview about the vocation to the Company, featuring Mary-Cabrini Durkin. Franciscan Media produced the spot, which can be heard on its website.
