Company of Canada
Members of the Company from the USA attended an annual assembly of the Company of St. Ursula of Canada in Toronto in June. The assembly blended inspirational presentations, prayer, and fun. The Company also re-elected Therese Bolduc directress. Newly elected councillors included Liliane Dozois of the United States group.

Family reunion
A joyful “family reunion” brought together over 300 Ursulines of the Company and the Order and some associates at the triennial North American Ursuline Convocation in Cleveland in July. Participants came from the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Other Ursuline guests hailed from Belgium, India, and England.

Italian scholar Querciolo Mazzonis presented the fruits of his research into the early Company of St. Ursula, published as Spirituality, Gender, and the Self in Renaissance Italy: Angela Merici and the Company of St. Ursula (1474-1540), The Catholic University of America Press, Washington, D.C., 2007. Other speakers addressed aspects of human trafficking.

Anniversary Congress An international Congress of the Federation of Companies of St. Ursula in Brescia, Italy, celebrated the 475th anniversary of the Company’s foundation in 1535. The July event featured Professor Paola Bignardi as the keynote speaker, addressing the topic “God in the World.”
